The Setting - vs - 29
Matthew 20:29 NASB95
29 As they were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed Him.
Where are they coming from?
Why are crowds following?
How would you respond if people were following you?
The Situation - vs. 30-31
Matthew 20:30–31 NASB95
30 And two blind men sitting by the road, hearing that Jesus was passing by, cried out, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!” 31 The crowd sternly told them to be quiet, but they cried out all the more, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”
What’s going on?
Why did the blind men respond this way?
How did they know who Jesus was?
Why did the crowds say be quiet?
The Solution - vs. 32-34
Matthew 20:32–34 NASB95
32 And Jesus stopped and called them, and said, “What do you want Me to do for you?” 33 They said to Him, “Lord, we want our eyes to be opened.” 34 Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes; and immediately they regained their sight and followed Him.
Why did Jesus stop?
Do you think that people have been yelling His name all the time?
Why was Jesus moved with compassion?
SO WHAT??
